Air Hall

Here at the Air Hall, you can see some of the actual aircraft that have played a pivotal role in the world’s aviation history, and understand how aircraft are built and what makes them fly.

Explore a full restoration of the Wright Flyer #3: an upgrade of the original Flyer, and the first successful powered aircraft. This is the only one of its kind in Asia. You will also find more than 20 actual aircraft suspended in the air as if they are in flight, including models that fought in the Korean War, and the Phantom, which protected South Korea’s airspace.

F-51D Mustang

The F-51D is a propeller fighter developed by North American in the U.S.A. named Mustang, which flew for the first time in 1942 and played a great role during World War II.

F-86 is the first retreating jet fighter in the U.S. Air Force built by North American, and its nickname is Sabre, and it flew for the first time in October 1947.

Designed by Mikoyan-Gurevich, the MiG-19 was the first Soviet supersonic fighter jet. Its first mission flight was in 1953. This highly efficient interceptor has also been used for ground-attack roles during wartime.

The F-5A is a lightweight tactical fighter developed by Northrop in the U.S., built on a T-38 aircraft, and is nicknamed the Freedom Fighter and the first to fly in 1959.

The F-4D is a multi-purpose fighter developed by McDonald's Douglas in the U.S.A., which was called the Phantom (a phantom, a ghost, or a goblin in the sky) and was first flown in 1965.

Also referred to as the STOL (Short Take Off and Landing), the CH 701 had excellent short take-off and landing performance, and was the preferred aircraft for rough terrains. This durable all-metal aircraft has been aptly referred to as the Sky Jeep.
